About RSM-DC

Our mission is to use RSM’s well-structured teaching strategy to help our students build a solid math foundation and develop lifelong critical thinking skills. Our classroom-based approach is an alternative to math tutoring in DC that creates lasting results for students and parents.

At RSM-DC, we believe that a quality mathematics education is one of the most powerful tools you can provide a child. We view the widespread aversion to math in the U.S. culture as a major problem. We strive to create a counter-culture that embraces math as both exciting and useful. RSM is not just designed for students who intend to study math in college. It is designed to help widen opportunities in all fields by enhancing logic and critical thinking skills, developing math-specific abilities, and fostering a deep appreciation for the subject.

About the Principal

Nino Ghurtskaia

Education:  PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Institute of Geophysics, Tbilisi, Georgia

Nino came to the United States 9 years ago as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Comparative Planetology Laboratory, at the Mechanical Engineering Department of University of Louisville, KY, where her research on dynamics and thermodynamics of planetary atmospheres was funded by the NSF Planetary Astronomy Program. Here, she studied how the presence of topography affects the spin-up of Venusian super-rotating winds. During her early career as a scientist, she studied Magneto-hydrodynamic relationship between the Solar Wind and Geomagnetic Field.

Nino is excited to start her first new RSM branch in Washington, DC and to share her passion for teaching. She is an education professional with over 7 successful years as a collegiate professor. She has taught all levels from Algebra through Calculus and her students usually describe her as fun and very interactive teacher.

Nino strongly believes  that the only difference between those who excel in mathematics and those who don't is the opportunity to learn.
