TJ prep for 7th Grade: Sunday: 8:30 am– 11:30 am, Class size: limited to 10 students. This class is designed for 7th graders who are planning to take the TJ admission test in 2018. TJ admissions has turned to ACT (Aspire portion) and Quant Q. The test consist of 28 question/50 minute section of “Quant Q” math, 32 question/65 minute Aspire Reading, and 40 question/60 minute Aspire Science. To achieve a high score 7th grade students have to start early to prepare Reading and Science. This class guides students toward a total success approach where we guide students on every facet of TJ admission including what extracurricular activities to take, how to screen teachers to insure that students get the best recommendations possible, and other important strategies. 8:30 – 10:00 Reading & Writing; 10:00 – 11:30 Science-ACT Aspire) SAT English Reading writing for 8th Grade graders: Sunday 9:30 am – 12:30pm This class is designed for students who are planning to take New Format SAT in middle school for qualifying CTY program and other colleges’ enrichment program as well as to achieve high SAT scores in grade 7 and 8. This class focuses on helping students build a solid foundation in four vital language areas and covers multiple levels of vocabulary, reading comprehension strategies, grammar/composition, essay writing skills, logical reasoning scrambled paragraphs, and sentence completions. Intensive SAT for Grade 11: Sunday 8:30 – 11:30 am. This class is designed to fully prepare students in English and Math for SAT exams to be taken in their 11th graders who is planning to take test in March 2019. The teaching plan focuses on academic knowledge, time-management, and test-taking strategies. Students will take 6 full-length exams to measure progress. They are expected to achieve high score in SAT. SAT Subject Test Math II- Pre Calculates: Sunday 8:30 – 10:30 am. This course is designed for students who have successfully completed the standards for Algebra I&II and Geometry and prepare for SAT Subject Test II – Math in May. Topics studied include graphing, analyzing, and interpreting functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; systems of linear equations and inequalities; matrices; conic sections; exponents and radicals. 6th grade Reading/Writing: Sunday 8:30 am – 10:30 am 5th grade Reading/Writing: Sunday 10:30 am – 12:30 pm 6th grade Math class – 7th grade SOL math prep: Sunday 11:30 am – 1:00 pm Class size: limited to 10 students Location: NACC (Northern Virginia Community College), Building: LW, All Class Dates
