TRANSFER OF CLOCK HOURS

NOVA Training Center may accept transfer clock hours for previously completed training that was successfully completed from a therapeutic massage program certified or approved by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia or an agency in another state, the District of Columbia, or a United States territory that approves educational programs. Students may transfer a maximum of 50% of the required hours toward program completion. Students who wish to transfer clock hours must submit an official transcript and syllabus for the courses to be considered to the Director of Education for review. If the previously completed course can be determined to be considerably equivalent in length and content to the corresponding NOVA Training Center Course, the student is required to complete a transfer exam. The transfer exam may include both written and a practical component to determine proficiency.

If students pass the transfer exam, they are given course hours on their NOVA Training Center transcript and the cost of their tuition is decreased by the number of hours transferred. The months required to complete the program may or may not change, depending on the specific courses transferred.
